Severn Seas

Severn Seas are a collection of photographs taken near my home in the South West of England, near the River Severn estuary coast line from Severn Beach down beyond Burnham-on-Sea.

Cuba

My first visit to Cuba as in 2006 and since then I have been booked, travelling back another two times (2009 and 2015). This book documents my 3 visits to Cuba, each time using different equipment to capture the island, from slide film, Hasselblad Xpan, Holga and even an iPhone using the Hipstamatic app.

Tuscany

Tuscany was my first overseas workshop with Lee Frost, back in 2005. I turned up with 2 camera bags, containing a Bronica medium format camera, Xpan panoramic camera, Minolta SLR. My excess luggage cost more than my seat! I have since been back to Tuscany on numerous occasions and is one of my favourite places for landscapes.

Venice

I have never been so cold as the time I was in Venice in January. I mistakenly thought that northern Italy would be warm that time of year, but at 5am it was far from it. 

So far I have only visited Venice once, but it did not disappoint.

New York

A good university friend of mine (he must have been a good friend, he was my best man) moved to New York over 20 years ago and has been living there since. Along with a Lee Frost workshop in 2019, this is a collection of photos from my visits. 

New York was were I fell in love with Hipstamatic, the camera app for the iPhone. I had recently returned from a trip to Iceland, just after the eruption and my SLR failed. I came across an article on the New York Times on Hipstamatic, downloaded it and never looked back. Hipstamatic took me back to Cuba for a third time.

Dordogne

I have been visiting the Dordogne region of France for 30 years. We first heard about 9/11 while sat on the banks for the Dordogne. The Dordogne has been our family holiday location for the last 12 years so it would be remiss of me not to take a camera with me. This is a collection of photos taken over a number of years of holidaying in the area.
